David Edgerton Douglas

David Edgerton Douglas, Jr., 63, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, David Douglas, Sr.

David is survived by his wife, Susan Douglas, his daughter, Hannah Douglas, and his mother, Dot Douglas. He also leaves behind one sister, Dottie Clayton, of Brentwood, Tennessee, her husband, Bruce, and two nieces, Courtney and Christina, and one nephew, Caleb, and their families.

David graduated from Harding Academy of Memphis in 1975. He went on to earn a Fine Arts Degree from the Memphis College of Art in 1987 and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Memphis in 1994.

In addition to a career in fine art, David taught drawing classes part-time at the University of Memphis. He also owned and operated Douglas Custom Frames until retiring.

David loved his family and friends, and he could always make them laugh with his wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed reading, writing, listening to music, drawing and painting, and talking about philosophy and religion. A skilled fine artist, he shared his art and love of art with everyone he met. Most of all David loved Christ, which was reflected throughout his art and in his relationships. He spent much of his time in prayer, meditation, and reading scripture. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ at White Station.

Due to national health concerns, there will be a private graveside service.
