HUFFMAN, Robert Joseph Sr. 72, of West Milton, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2004 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born December 2, 1931. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anne Louise Huffman, nee Larocco and his children Elizabeth Huffman-Philadelphia. Mary Kate Huffman-CenterviIle, Robert Huffman Jr. and his wife Louisa-Pleasant Hill, Dr. Stephen Huffman arid his wife Kathryn-Tipp City, Samuell Huffman and his wife Suzanne-West Milton, 16 grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael & Matthew Onufrak, Anne, Thomas, Peter, Natalie, Elizabeth, Mary, Grace, Ashley, Allison, William, Laura, Luke, John and Gabriella Huffman. He is also survived by his brother Lawrence Huffman and his wife Shirley-Lima, sister Constance Huffman Ecklar and her husband William Ecklar-Greenville, brother-in-law James Moon, and a host of nieces & nephews. Mr. Huffman was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Huffman Sr., mother Audrey Huffman nee Johnson, siblings Anne Huffman Wheeler, Patricia Huffman Moon & Richard Huffman & nephew Nicholas Huffman. Mr. Huffman opened his Law practice on Miami Street in Wear Milton in 1960. A founding partner in Huffman, Landis & Weaks, he practiced in both Troy & West Milton. He was eventually joined in his law practice by three of his children and a daughter-in-law. He was elected Prosecuting Attorney for Miami County in 1968 and 1972. In 1976 he was elected as National Committeeman for the Republican Party. Mr. Huffman was a delegate to the 1980 Republican National Convention in Detroit. He served on the Miami County Board of elections for many years and recently supervised the 2004 elections. A long time member of the American, Ohio and Miami County Bar Associations, Mr. Huffman was a fellow in American College of trial Lawyers. He was also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers. A member of the Transfiguration Catholic Church, West Milton, since 1960, Mr. Huffman was ordained a Deacon in 1983 and served the parish in that capacity until his death. He was instrumental in the design, building and development of the Lange Estate on Calumet Road. Mr. Huffman was a member of the Class of 1950 of Roosevelt High in Dayton and then joined the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War. Mr. Huffman then matriculated at Ohio Northern University, where he studied English and received his law degree. He was an editor of the Ohio Northern University law review. A member of the American Legion Post #487, he served that organization as the Advocate General. A Mass Christian burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at the Transfiguration Catholic Church, West Milton, with Father John MacQuarrie as Celebrant, burial with Military Honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. Friends may call on Tuesday from 3:00-9:00 P.M. at Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.
