Robert Brooks Obituary
Woodstown - Robert Alan Brooks, 94, of Woodstown passed away on October 2, 2018. Born in Gloversville, NY, Bob was the son Archibald & Ada Cadman Brooks. Bob graduated from Harvard University with a BS in Chemistry and then attended Yale University where he earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry. After graduating from Yale, he began his career with DuPont, retiring in 1985 as Laboratory Director after 36 years of service. Bob was a member of Rotary, the Salem County Historical Society, the Turkey Club, and sat on the Board of Trustees for Stockton University. He was also very involved with the Boy Scouts of America.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his two wives, Marjorie Robbins Brooks and Shirley Benner Brooks, a son, Alan Brooks, siblings Helen Kennedy and Richard Brooks, as well as a niece, Judith Kennedy. He is survived by his nephew Alan Kennedy and wife Sue, children Bobbie Hartz, Margie Phillips and her husband Mike, Ron Evans and his wife Monique, grandchildren Darryl, Nikki, Chris, Katie, Brooke, Silver, Chad, and Grant. The family would also like to thank Suzette Scott for her wonderful care and kind attention to Bob.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at the Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad St., Woodstown, NJ 08098. Visitation with family will begin at 1 PM, followed by a Memorial service at 2 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
