Lyle HENRETTY Obituary

Lyle L. Henretty Of Wilmington, DE died September 10, 2001 in the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. Lyle graduated from Conrad High School in 1951 and served in the US Air Force from February 1951-June 1952. He worked for the Reading Railroad as station agent at the Elsmere Junction, DE and as wharf master of the Delaware River Pier from 1952-1959. He worked as a rate analyst in the traffic department for the DuPont Company in Wilmington, DE from 1959-1964. He also worked at the General Motors plant in Wilmington, DE as a senior rate analyst in the traffic department from 1964-1977 when he was forced to retire on disability. As a young man, he was a demolay and was awarded a chevelors degree. He was also a 32nd degree mason and a Shriner. He was a life member of DAV and a longtime member of American Legion Post #21. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Webb Henretty; daughter, Deborah of Wilmington; son and daughter-in-law, William and Sharon K. of Wilmington; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sharon A. of Pike Creek; brother, Paul of Newark; sister, Virginia Goudy of Wilmington; and 4 grandchildren, Katlin, Amy, Alyssa and Steven, Jr. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 14 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church where friends may call one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1700 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.
