Vance Mercer

Cooper

Vance Mercer Cooper, age 83, of Kennett Square, PA, died Monday April 11, 2011 at the Christiana Hospital. He was the husband of Dolores Costanzo Cooper, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.

Born in West Grove, he was a son of the late Horace and Myrtle Wilkinson Cooper. Vance was a master carpenter, skilled at furniture and cabinet making. He coached Avon Grove and KAU little league for over 20 years, and touched the lives of many.

Survivors include in addition to his wife, three sons, David Cooper of Landenberg PA, and Cape May County NJ, Jeffrey Cooper and his wife Paula of Wyoming DE, and Chris Cooper of Landenberg, one daughter Candace Cooper of Aldie Virginia, one sister Wanda Kevis of Landenberg PA, and six grandchildren Kimberly, Kevin, John, Erin, Ryan, and Jacob.

A memorial service will be held 11AM Thursday April 14, 2011 at the Kemblesville United Methodist Church Rt. 896 and Peacedale Rd. Kemblesville, PA 19347. You are invited to visit with his family from 10-11AM before the service. Interment will be held privately. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Avon Grove Little League, PO Box 70, West Grove, PA 19390 or the KAU Little League PO Box 472, Kennett Square, PA 19348.

We are so sad to hear of Vinnie's passing. Life on the landing will not be the same without him. I know how much he loved it there and in my mind he will always be there. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of the family at your time of sorrow. So sorry we will not be there to say our final goodbye to a great man. May you all find comfort in those fond memories of happier times.
