Hello everyone,
First of all, I'd link to thank you for all of the kind words left here about my dad. It brings us great comfort to know how loved he is.
Because tomorrow (9/12/18) will be one year since he passed, I wanted to provide some information in case anyone might want to visit him. I included a picture (in a separate post) with his gravesite listed, as it can be difficult to find. Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery will be open tomorrow from 9-4:30 (these are strict hours: they will close the gates, unfortunately). I would advise against leaving anything valuable at the foot of his gravesite, since they do not allow flowers or decorations on or around the crypt, and they do cleanups periodically to enforce that. Well... with the exception of the Super Bowl Champions sticker I put on, since they can't get it off, which my dad would find hilarious.
*HOWEVER*, please do not feel obligated to make a visit. He wouldn't want you to feel obligated and wasn't one for formalities anyway. What I think he would appreciate even more is if you spent the day his way. Perform an act of kindness, big or small. Root for the underdog. Help kids who are disadvantaged or need encouragement. Spend time appreciating nature. Read a book that makes you think. Spoil your pets. Pull a prank. Set your fantasy football lineup. Be full of laughter, integrity, and empathy in honor of him, tomorrow and every day.
Thank you so much to all who keep his memory alive.
Jack's daughter,
Grace

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Ribble family. Seeing Jack in court always brought a smile to my face. He was such a decent man in every sense of the word - a great guy who will be missed dearly.

I just heard about Jack's passing tonight. Jack was a law school friend and Jersey shore friend of mine back in the day. We clerked together and began our legal careers at German, Gallagher and Murtagh in Philadelphia. As often happens, we did not keep in contact in recent years as we both started families and had seperate career paths. I am shocked and saddened though. Jack was a wonderful guy and my deepest sympathies to Chrissie and his kids. RIO friend.

Long time friends with his wife, I have known Jack for over 25 years. From the start, Jack treated me like family. Such a smart guy, funny and always a pleasure to be around. My parents, kids, and wife all loved him. He really was a great person, and will be missed. RIP Jack

I remember Jack as a very thoughtful, very charming childhood friend. As a fellow member of St. Ann's Lollipop Guild (his words - haha), we spent a lot of time together in the front of the line, usually trying not to laugh - or worse yet, get caught laughing! I remember Jack as the guy who played fair in kickball, the guy who was the first to speak up against an injustice, the guy you could always count on to do the right thing, and the guy who truly lived his faith by helping others. Here's a very small example: Back when we were sophomores at PAHS, long after we fell out of touch, Jack somehow managed to buy every member of the Pep Club a pink carnation on Valentine's Day because again, his words it would suck to sell carnations and then not get one in return.
I'm so grateful that Jack and I had the chance to get back in touch over these past few years, and am incredibly proud of the successful life he built for himself and his brothers, against all odds. He was as strong as they come, and he will be missed!
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

While I never knew Mr. Ribble personally, I came to know his daughter during one of the most challenging phases of my life. Grace is one of the most courageous and kid-hearted people that I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Given all that I've heard about Mr. Ribble, I am sure it is a direct reflection of his own life. Sending all of my love and prayers to Grace and the entire Ribble family.

Very sad to hear the news on the passing of a great high school friend. I have been living on the west coast for over 30 years but was able to meet Jack for dinner about a year ago. During the dinner He spoke so proudly of his two kids. We had so much to share that the waitress came by our table four times before we were able to orders drinks. I pray the Lord provides peace for Jack's family. Rest in Peace Old Friend!!

Jack Ribble was a mensch. An absolute gentleman and a class act. Jack was the most formidable opponent I would try cases against. He was a brilliant and excellent lawyer. I would vote for Jack every year as a super lawyer because he was so deserving of that designation in every way. He was a role model to all who had the pleasure to know him and spend time with him. He will be missed tremendously.

To the Ribble family. My heartfelt condolences. Jack was an amazing person and splendid attorney. I have many fond memories of Jack while working together at German and Gallagher and Murtaugh. Jack's dead pan humor, practical jokes and all-around goodness will never be forgotten. It is profoundly sad that he is no longer with us, but heaven is a much better place now.
