Donald Messenger Obituary
FEDERALSBURG, MD—A native of Federalsburg, Donald B.W. Messenger, who was born on Sept. 11, 1935, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at his home in Lothian, Md., after a long illness.
An attorney, who had practices on the Eastern Shore and in Beltsville, Md, he remained connected to his roots.
He is survived by his widow, Barbara Beall Messenger, devoted daughters Colleen Baldwin of Crownsville, Md., and Melanie Davis of Haymarket, VA.
He also leaves behind a brother, Guy R. Messenger of Crownsville, Md; a sister, Virginia L. Liddicoat of Felton, Del., as well as six grandchildren.
Viewings will be held today between the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Donald V. Borgwardt Funeral Home at 4400 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, Md. 20705 (301-937-1707).
A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church at 826 W. Cenral Avenue in Davidsonville, MD 21035 (301-261-7399).
Interment will follow immediately thereafter at the All Hallows Episcopal Church burial ground next to the Holy Family Catholic Church.

I had the joy of meeting Don over 30 years ago when I recorded radio announcements for his political campaign. Subsequent to that we became good friends. He will be deeply missed.

Don has been a friend and colleague for over thirty years. A gifted lawyer with an excellent political mind, Don was always warm-hearted. Susan and I will miss his great story-telling abilities and witty view of life. Our deepest sympathies go to Bobbie, Colleen, Melanie and the entire extended family.
