I have this funny family.. A group of crazy people that you sit in a circle with and try to out funny each other. Mike was a key player, so witty and happy. It was always so exciting for me to see him walk through the door because it meant "game on.." Although I think it is unfair that he will no longer participate in the battle of wits, I cant think of a better person to greet us at the pearly gates. Thank you Mike for all the laughter, you will be missed but never forgotten.
Love Always,
Robyn Hardee and family

Cathy, Marshall, Brian & family,
Having been friends for 43 years, I will truly miss Mike’s deep gruff voice & genuine smile. Even though I had moved 1000 miles away we always stayed in touch & occasionally went out when Mike was in Phoenix or I in Denver. I went to visit Mike a couple of weeks ago & am so thankful that I got to spend some time with him & let him know how truly special he was to me. What warms my heart the most & makes me laugh is the memory of taking out my Mom’s sewing machine (1965-1968) so my sister Mickey or I could take in the pant legs of his jeans, Mike liked his blue jeans tight. Please find comfort in knowing that I will keep you all in my prayers asking God to help you endure the pain of losing a great son & father.

Dear Mike
I will dearly miss your dry wit and humor. You loved to laugh and I surely enjoyed laughing with you.
Mike, no doubt, you are already up there giving God a hard time about why you have to wear white sandals there instead of your cowboy boots. In imagining this, it brings a warm smile to my face. I am so glad you were in my circle of friends. I will not try to be sad that you have left us…rather I will be glad that in the journey of life, you and I were friends. Take care my friend.

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

To Mike’s Family and Friends,

I am so sorry for your loss, but also relieved Mike is free from ALS. Though I only knew Mike for the last year of his life, he has left an indelible impression on me. In the almost 15 years I have worked with the terminally ill, I have never met anyone with Mike’s courage, strength and spirit. I am so grateful to have known and become friends with Mike, and I will never forget him. He said he was lucky to know me -- the irony of that statement was not lost on me, considering the fact that his dying is what brought us together. The nature of that statement, though, is just one example of why Mike became very important and special to me; he was so selfless and caring. And real and funny. He quipped once that he would ruin me for hospice volunteering when he was gone, but the truth is quite the opposite: he has inspired me beyond measure. I told Mike recently, speaking of us all, that he is sooo loved. He beamed and agreed. That love, which he reciprocated, does not die. Please be good to yourselves in your grief.

Wishing you peace,

Felix Zamora

Dear Michael,
Thank you for being my friend. I appreciated your honesty and gentle approach to the work we had before us at U S WEST. It was always a pleasure to work with you. May the Good Lord bless you in his eternal home.

My Darling Michael,
You have touched me in more ways than you will ever know. I never heard music, until I listened through your ears. I never appreciated art, until I glanced through your eyes. I never knew laughter, until I laughed with you. I emerged from the darkness because you were there to guide me. I will miss you more than you will ever know.
All My Love.....
