Kenna Ford Obituary

Kenna Rae Ford

July 6, 1935 ~ February 1, 2021

Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania—Kenna Rae Armstrong Ford of Manti, Utah passed away at home on February 1, 2021. Kenna was born July 6, 1935 to Kenton and Norma Harmon Armstrong in Ephraim, Utah. Preceded in death by her parents, Kenna leaves behind her husband of 59 years, David E Ford, four children, Elizabeth Tracey, Angela Rubin, Sarah Perkins, and David Ford Jr., nine grandchildren, Christopher Hullinger, Rachel Rubin, Tessa Rubin, Emma Tracey, Anna Tracey, James Perkins, Caroline Perkins, Harlan (Harry) Perkins, and Louisa Perkins, and her sister Suzanne Worthington.

Kenna was raised in Manti, attending Manti High School, where she was editor of the school newspaper, a member of the yearbook staff, served on the student council, performed in dramatic productions and was a delegate to Girls State. Kenna continued her education at Snow College, where she was named valedictorian of the 1955 class, and Brigham Young University. Kenna taught English in Salt Lake County and Palo Alto public schools and was married to her beloved husband David in the Idaho Falls Temple in August 1961.

In addition to raising her family, Kenna was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), in which she dedicated herself to service. Over the years, Kenna variously served as President of the Relief Society and Young Women's organizations, taught early-morning Seminary, was a Stake Young Women's counselor, and a Visiting Teacher. Above all, however, it was spending time with her children and young grandchildren that gave her the greatest joy during her brief time with us.
