Harry Hodkin Obituary
Harry Eugene (Gene) Hodkin, born March 17, 1916 in Carthage Mo., went home to be with the Lord April 25, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Alice Russell-Hodkin, wed July 17, 1939, in Carthage, Mo. They were married 71 years. Blessed with five children, Barbara Hodkin-Fry, Carol Hodkin-Armstrong, Roger Hodkin, Kenneth Hodkin, and Randy Hodkin; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Gene and Clara moved to Barstow, Calif., in 1952 and settled in Lenwood. Gene worked and retired as a mechanic and supervisor at Nebo and Yermo Marine Base, he was a talented artist and published author.
Memorial service will be Monday May 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene 12935 Central Road., Apple Valley, Calif. 92308. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to St. Jude Cancer Research P.O. Box 50 Memphis, Tenn. 38101-9929.

What can I say to honor such a man as Dad. He stayed true and strong to his beliefs...moreso than anyone I have ever met. I was honored that he called me his daughter and allowed me to call him dad. I will miss you dad from the deepest part of my heart. I LOVE YOU! You have earned your rest with the Lord. Lay gently with him. Sing loud and bask in his presence. God bless and be with this family as they heal from his absence.
