Jerry Batson

1940 - 2016

Jerry Batson passed on to be with the Lord in his sleep on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, at Neptune Society of Fort Worth. Burial of ashes, 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Tucumcari Memorial Park. Jerry was born Feb. 15, 1940, in Tucumcari, N.M. He graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1958 and joined the United States Navy in 1960, retiring after 22 years as an aviation mechanic. After the Navy, Jerry was employed by General Dynamics in Fort Worth in product support training on the F-16 Fighter Program, retiring after 19 years. Survivors: Jerry is survived by a son, Michael and wife, Myriam, and children; sister, Janice and husband, Art; stepchildren, Sharon Green of Fort White, Fla., Thomas Shelton of Liberty, N.C., Janice Kunkle of Benbrook and Jerry Jernigan of Bridgeport; and 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Farrel and Juanita; brother, Thomas; sister, Joann; and wives, Pauline and Doris.
