I just went to make an appt with Dr. Joe and can't believe that he has passed. He took care of my mom's back for years and my knees since high school. He was always my first referrel to anyone that needed an orthapedic.
He was a great doctor but what I loved about him most is that he was very direct! We lost a good one.
My deepest sympathy to his family.

Just heard about Joe's passing from a friend in Columbus. He called me every few months to talk about orthopaedics and life. He was very good to me and my family during our time in Columbus and he will definitely leave a void in our lives as well as so many others. Our condolences go to Kathy, Michael, and Alison.

I JUST FOUND OUT THAT DR.JOE DIED IN SEPTEMBER.I AM VERY SORRY TO HEAR THAT.HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND AND CUSTOMER FOR YEARS.WE WENT BACK TO MY MCDORMAN DAYS BEFORE I EVEN HAD A BUSINESS.HE WILL BE MISSED BADLY.BEST WISHES GO OUT TO THE KIDS & HIS FRIENDS.I HOPE HE FINDS FRAN SO THEY CAN BE TOGETHER AGAIN.

Dr Joe put my brother back together after a car wreck in 1988 and I made a lot of trips to his office and it was always a good trip. One of the nicest guys I ever knew. Prayers to the family. RIP

I just found out about Dr. Schlonsky today,I was very hurt to here about him leaving us. I knew you for a short time, but you were the kindest man I have known in a long time. You made me feel like you cared about how I was feeling. I will miss you and I will never forget the kindness you showed me. I thank God for allowing me to know you. I just found out today that you passed away Joe. We have been friend and Dr.,patient for almost forty years. Our birthdays were the same date and I loved you for the great man your were and my friend.

sorry to hear about Dr Schlonsky...he was a true friend to my husband. He did rotor cuff surgery on both of Gerald's shoulders. visited him in last month & got referral to Dr Snook for surgery...everything turned out ok..still recouperating......Dr schlonsky was a friend to everyone & knew you whenever or whereever he saw you.....condolenses to the family & may he rest in Peace..He truly will be missed..

I am an orthopedic sales rep and I want to let you know Dr. Schlonsky did so much to make me feel welcome. His love of Corvettes is something we shared and he took extra time, when he could, to talk about them and gave me great advice. I'll always have good memories and am sorry for your loss. I will miss the larger than life mensch that was Joseph. He certainly blessed all those who had the privilege to know him and spend time with him. For many years, I have not watched any Ohio State Buckeyes game and not though that he was doing the same thing! He was a role model, committed to the care of patients, devoted to family. I can not tell you how shocked and saddened I am to hear Dr. Joe passed away. I can only tell you that for the past 25 years Dr. Joe has visited the Imaging Center almost daily and how he and I became friends over those years. I will miss his passion for sports and the banter we would have in my office when I should have been working! He cared deeply not only for his patients but more importantly for his family. If you wanted to bring a smile to his face all you had to do was mention his grandchildren.

I was so shocked to hear of Dr. Schlonskys passing. I have been a patient of his since the 1990s when I broke my arm. In time he also seen some of my kids also. He was a great doctor, we all will miss him so much! We will keep his family and office staff in our prayers and thoughts.

Doctor Joe: Thanks for all the great memories I will never forget, such as dining with family at Hunan House, my first time driving a Corvette(with Allison when I was 16), helping me get a great deal on GM cars, and fun socializing with you and your family. dear kathy and family, i extend my heartfelt sympathy to you on the loss of dr schlonsky. he was fast to help someone when they needed it, always saying "hi" as he passed through our xray department or personally bringing his patients down to make sure they had the best of care. he was fun to work with, enthusiastic and joking to lighten the tension as he worked. i have known him 24 years and in that time, i never heard any of his patients say anything bad about him; they all loved dr joe. again, my deepest condolences on the loss of dr schlonsky, he will be missed. mary wawrzyk, r.t.

I was very sorry to hear the news about Dr Schlonsky from Rabbi Kalmann. I am an occasional visitor to the Chabad House in New Albany. Due tio family circumstances I am now in Australia and canot attend the funeral but I wish to convey my condolences to the family. Dr Schlonsky was a nice and decent fellow, always smiling and friendly, and he will be missed not only by his family and close friends, but by anyone who knew him. Yehi zichro baruch. Family and Dr. Gardner, It was very sad to hear about your loss. The Imaging Center isn't the same without Dr. Joe rushing in, stopping to talk about sports, trying to get a patient taken care of, and having a treat or two from the candy jar. I had the priviledge of typing for him and enjoyed his friendship, loved to argue with him and see his generosity to everyone, especially his patients. He will be missed.

Dr. Schlonsky was my very first expert witness as an attorney. I could trust that he would always give me a straight answer and that I would never guess what he meant. He did so even when I asked "silly questions." He was the first to call me with his condolences when an attorney in my office unexpectedly died. He will be greatly missed. May God give peace to his family and friends at this time of loss.

What a shock to learn of your dad's passing. It's been a while since I saw Joe, but he was so thrilled with his grandchildren.
The years have passed since we were neighbors but we'll always remember Allison tumbling down our shaft when our house was built and of course us driving the Corvette's in the Fourth of July parades.

Dr. Schlonsky was an angel to me. When no one else would help me, he did. We had several sessions with pain knee injections--but he always made the visit fun!! There wasn't a week that went by where we didn't speak. He will be missed!!!

We just read about Joe's passing. I first met him on November 21, 1977. I had a really bad car accident and he was the surgeon on call at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. I walk today because he never gave up in putting my legs back together. He was not only my doctor, but he was the doctor for all of my family. We have become friends as well as patient/doctor over the years and he will be sadly missed by myself and my family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and many friends.
