I just heard about Matt. He and I talked so much at our class reunion two years ago about our fun high school days. I am so sorry for your loss.

To the Beach Family- I was so shocked and sadden to hear about Matt's passing. I'm sorry I wasn't able to send my condolences in person as I was traveling out west, and I truly like to make an effort to say goodbye to my fellow classmates in person. On behalf of the Whetstone Class of 1975, I want to let you know that Matt always came to our Friday night reunions and we always considered him one of our classmates (even though he graduated before us). That just shows you the character of Matt. I will miss seeing his beautiful smile at our next one as I really loved seeing him and talking to him about the old neighborhood. We couldn't have been more blessed to have grown up in such a great neighborhood. I will remember those memories fondly even though they were simple ones as just taking walks in the neighborhood, talking about silly teenage stuff. Matt, may you rest in peace, and I pray that the Lord's wonderful light is shining all around you- you deserve it. Sadly, your neighborhood and Whetstone friend- Theresa Benedetti Crosby (one of the triplets).

I enjoyed being with Matt from the time we practiced wrestling moves together on Aunt Gertie's living room carpet 45 years ago during family get-togethers at Christmastime to the time Matt & Rio visited with us in Colorado in November 2014. I believe that Matt was in his element and identified with life in the Rocky Mountains. He loved our sunrises, sunsets, mountain views, low humidity, animal & fish life, and cool mountain air. We will miss you Matt, along with your warm smile, love of family and a good story, and your manly yet gentle ways.

Dear Phil, I have sketchy information but I suspect that the Matt Beach listed in the Dispatch obits is the Matt I knew and respected. If so, he put in a new driveway for me six or more years ago; the last time I talked to him. If this is true, you have my condolences. I am sorry!
