To the Olson family ... I think of you all and often pray ... I know you all have rough days where you really miss Dr. Kevin Olson. He was definitely a one of a kind person . I knew him just as a patient and a friend and I miss him dearly . I cant imagine what a loss his family must feel . I hope you all are blessed with endless memories of his ornery smile and laughter and I hope those memories are enough to carry you through the days of missing him . He will never be forgotten by my family . He was always kind and helpful to all of us ... we loved him to pieces . He was proud of his family ... he shared pictures of grandkids and often laughed and said he didnt know how his wife ( Peggy) could put up with him some days . My heart aches for you all. God bless ... he definitely left an impression on many .

Rex said it perfectly. Found Dr. Olson twenty years ago and what a blessing. My first appointment was like we'd known each other for years. Not only did he always make me healthy again, it was fun to go see him. He was crazier than me. I sure miss him. I can imagine how his family feels. God bless you all with peace and comfort. Haven't found a family doctor wish Doc Olson was around to give me a hard time and good advice.

Its still hard for me to believe that Dr Olsen has passed. Theres not a day that goes by that I dont think of him and his family . I pray for the family often , I know that there has to be a void that can never be filled for them . May God send you all peace and comfort . Kevin was a good Dr, friend , and just an all around good person . I wont ever forget the talks we had on my office visits . He always left me feeling that things was gonna be ok no matter what the visit with him was about . Lol I can still here him yelling in the hallway ... fire em , fire em all ! Then he would ask if my face was hurting ... lol and said it was killing him... he was definitely a one if a kind . Love to the Olsen family ...

"Shot!" "Body up!" "Get his number!" And my personal favorite, "Club the baby seal!" Who says these things at a high school lacrosse game? Kevin did. "Does your face hurt? Cuz it's killing me!" What are men? Pigs!" Who says these things during a doctor-patient interaction? Kevin did. "Who's got hair?" "Go Jones!", as the Hastings float goes by, and, with perfect symmetry, "Go Hastings!", as the Jones float goes by, and my personal favorite, "Drink up, Shriners!" Who says these things at a community Fourth of July parade? Kevin did. Who loved Peggy above all others? Kevin did. Who loved a tall glass of Old Overcoat above (almost) all others? Kevin did. Who raised four beautiful children to grow up and be productive members of their respective communities? Kevin did. Who adored and doted on his many grandchildren? Kevin did. Who saved me from a cruel and malodorous demise as a child during the infamous "Dump Incident?" Kevin did. Who cared about his patient's health and well-being above his own? Kevin did. Who made a particularly tasty pot of mostaccioli? Kevin did. On this, the 62nd anniversary of his birth, what's the best thing I can say about my brother Kevin? Kevin...DID!

I received news today that my longtime friend and Doctor, Kevin Olson, had passed away. I can't begin to tell you how sad I am this day. There was a special relationship with this man who saved my life one day, and taught me about my body, as he treated me for over 30 years. I often joked with him that he should take better care of himself, and go see a good doctor. We would laugh together at his many jokes, and he was always able to lift my spirits. I'm sure there are many people, like me, whom he touched with his knowledge, wit, and genuine concern. He will ways be special to me as I remember the many young doctors he taught, while examining me for some ailment, through the years. A truly amazing man. I know he is in a place where there is no pain, nor time and space to separate him from the many people he touched.
For the Olson family, I share in your loss. Take comfort in what I, and many feel. We were blessed and fortunate to have had him in our lives, and no one can take his place, or fill his space.
A loving friend.

I just heard about this today when I tried to call the office for refills and could not get through so looked online to make sure nothing had changed. I was referred to Dr Olson through my family doctor of over 20 years after he retired. I was so happy I found another doctor that I could trust. He had the BEST bedside manner ever. He was always making people smile and laugh and always had a joke about something. He also always managed to thank me for contributing to his kids college fund by visiting him every time I came in. He was a great doctor (to be so highly recommended by another great doctor is no small feat) and also a great man. He will be greatly missed. RIP Dr Olson and my sincerest condolences to his entire family and all of his friends. I know that just as one of his patients his absence will be felt so I can't even imagine the loss for you.

I hvae been a patient of Dr. Olson's since he interned with Dr. Ayres. To say he was just my doctor is an undestatement to say the very least! I also considered him a dear friend. He listened when I needed someone, he comforted me when my mother passed and he was ALWAYS kind and caring...I can't think of one instance in all the time I knew him that he didn't make me smile! I felt as if I knew his family, as he spoke of them proudly
all the time, they were certainly the light of his life! He will be immensely missed! My sincerest condolences to his family.

I can't say how fortunate I am to have known Doc Olson from a young age. Playing lacrosse alongside his son Keith since elementary school, his voice and witful humor became a staple of game days. I can still hear him bellowing out, "HOLLLLY MACKERAL", "GET HIS NUMBER!!", and the infamous "LITTLE WHITE THING".
Outside of lacrosse, Doc was an incredible mentor to me as I pursued my medical training. He was an incredible teacher and is one of the smartest people I've ever met. However, the most important thing I learned from Doc was how to connect with and care for patients. His ability to use his sense of humor to connect with patients and deliver high quality patient care was truly second-to-none. I'm currently an orthopaedic surgery resident and not a day goes by where I don't use one of Doc's infamous one-liners with one of my patients. My personal favorite line of his was, "Ah, if I wanted to hear ya whine, I'd marry ya!", a line that I still haven't figured out how I could get away with!!
Doc had a positive impact on so many lives and he will be sorely missed by all. I'll be forever thankful for the time I spent knowing and working with Doc and am deeply saddened by his passing. Sending my thoughts and deepest sympathies to the entire Olson Family.

Prayers to The Olson family as you grieve this horrible loss. Dr Olson will be greatly missed by his entire family, friends and patients. I have only been one of his patients for ALL of those 28 years, and I will forever miss being one of the first appointments of the day. You always knew when Elvis entered the building. I often wonder what new patients thought of those first few minutes and if he ever scared any of them off. What a jovial & Happy man. I can only imagine what a great DAD & Granddad he must be. I am so thankful for having known him. God Bless,

I just found out about Dr. Olson's passing. My husband and I have been going to him for over 15 years. We would always laugh at the stories he'd tell. Laughter is definitely the best medicine because we'd always feel better when we left his office. He would brag about his wife and how wonderful she is. My husband always says that Dr. Olsen could take one look at him and know excatly what was going on. He would always ask if my face was hurting and I had to say no and he'd say with a big hearty laugh ha ha Ha it's killing me!!! No matter how many times he said it, it never got old. Rest in peace Dr. Olson. There is none other like you And never will be again. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Olson family. Our condolences. DeMoss family

I spent a month rotating with Dr. Olson several years ago as a med student. I'll never forget his voice bellowing up and down the halls in between patients, making everyone laugh. I still re-tell some of his jokes, such as "Why was Helen Keller a bad driver? She was a woman." He got away with saying things to patients that no one else could, because all of his patients loved him. He was also one of the most intelligent doctors I've ever worked with, and I can still remember many of the clinical pearls he taught me. I have a cousin who is a physician in Columbus, who saw Dr. Olson a few weeks ago, and despite several years and probably hundreds of medical students coming through his office, he remembered and asked about me. He was a one-of-a kind doctor and human being.
I was deeply, deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I just learned of Dr. Olson's passing 1/29/18,I was completely shocked I had just seen him before Christmas, he was excited about Christmas and spending time with his family and was always talking about his grandkids. Dr. Olson had been my Dr for 27 years and from the day we met we just connected. His expertise in medicine was just something I had never seen. Not only was he a great Dr he made you feel like a friend, he always ask about my kids and then my grandkids. He proudly wore his family picture on his lab coat and was always bragging about them, you knew how much he loved them. He was always so encouraging to his medical students and treated them with so much respect. I can't begin to tell you the jokes he told me over the past 27 years and how many times I went in there feeling awful and always walked out laughing. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Olson family, and would like to thank you for sharing him with all of us patients. He will be missed very much. God bless you Dr Olson and thank you for being a great Dr to me these past 27 years, and for being a great human being

We were shocked to hear of this. We found Dr Olson when our doctor retired. We had no idea as to where to go. We talked to a few people, and set up an appointment with the office for a meet the Doctor visit. As we were waiting to meet Dr Olson, we heard this voice coming down the hallway. The nurse laughed and said, Dr Olson is in the building. I am so glad we stayed to meet this marvelous man. He was so smart, friendly, and had a great bedside manner. He referred to us also as Fred and Ethel. I always looked forward to his jokes, and always had at least 1 to tell him. We trusted him completely and if he said do this or that, it was for a good reason, and we did it.
Our prayers and sympathy go out to the family and the office staff.
Keep the jokes going Dr Olson. You have earned a right to make everyone in Heaven laugh.

I met Dr. Olson in 1992, he had just taken over the practice from Dr. Ayers. He took care of our daughter, our son, my sister, myself and my husband. You could hear him coming into the room and the first thing you would be greeted with young lady, then the latest joke he had heard, then it was serious business followed by does your face hurt? Because it's killing me. He was intelligent, always up to date on the latest procedure, technique, innovation, medicine. When there was a student in the clinic, I had to be the guinea pig and have every student listen to my heart to find the murmur I have. Then he would ask about the kids and the family. He took care of everybody on the west side no matter what color or religion or size and he was good and he was fair, he treated everyone with love. We will all miss you, condolences to your family especially your wife. Rest easy Kevin Olson, you will be greatly missed by all of us.

Dr. Olsen was my doctor for many decades. Larger than life kind of guy and quick with a joke. He once said before an examination:"Does your face hurt?" I said no. He replied "It's killing me!" I started my medial training in his clinic as a third year medical student, and went back to his clinic as a 4th yr . The best 2 months of my life. I can safely vouch for the fact that he was one of the smartest physician I've worked with thus far. I not only learnt the art of clinical medicine in my 2 months, but also learnt how to keep you one's compassion and sense of humor intact while seeing 50 patients a day. I'll always carry along with me his words of wisdom and teaching as I move along in my career path. Rest in peace Dr. Olson. You'll be deeply missed.

I am at a lost for words ... My heart and prayers goes out to Dr Olson's family. He was such a wonderful, caring doctor and friend. He has been my doctor since Dr Ayers, for almost 30 years. We would joke about our families, cooking and in general the world. As I fought cancer he would stand strong with me in my faith. There is so much I could say about him because he truly was a blessing to me and my family. To the Olson family thank you for sharing a wonderful man. Because of him the world was a little brighter. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dr Olson's family during this difficult time. He was certainly one of a kinda brilliant physician. I've been in healthcare for over 30 years and the connection I've witnessed Dr Olson make with his patients was definitely something special. It's certainly one of the reasons I went to him for the past 28 years and also why my husband, mother, mother-in-law, children and several of my friends went to him as well. Not only did he genuinely care for his patients, he was kind, caring, compassionate and when necessary, brutally honest! His ability to understand that laughter IS the best medicine and have such a wonderful sense of humor set him apart and we are so grateful to have been blessed to have crossed paths with him in this lifetimeR.I.P. Dr Oyou will be sorely missed.

I posted a condolence on here earlier , but I felt the need to express a lil bit more . Words can not touch the impact that Dr .Olsen. Left on so many people . His wife and kids and grandkids are in my thoughts and prayers . I am very sorry for all of you that I am sure are feeling a huge void and will feel that emptiness from here on out . Dr Olsen and I had a conversation after he fell hanging up Christmas lights ... I told him to take care of himself because I didn't trust just anyone . He said he had survived something that should have killed him then. I was very impressed that him going through that fall that he never skipped a beat as far as his knowledge and memory went and for being an amazing dr . Him being the character he was ... he told me not to worry that he didn't crack the pavement ! We have joked and laughed about serval things ... and I have told him several times. I don't see how your wife can put up with you ! He always told me that she's a very kind woman and that she thought it was ok that he rode the short bus pretty often . My heart is so heavy for all of the Olson family. I just wanted you all to know that he shared pictures. And stories while he was taking care of the whole west side . His face would light up as he mentioned his wife and kids and grandkids .
I also feel very sorry for the staff in the office and other patients everyone he came in contact with really ... may god bless you all and comfort you in times of missing this amazing guy . He said men are pigs ... but he sure was not a pig . He was an exceptional dr , person and friend . I won't be able to attend his services , but my heart is with you all . Rest easy in heaven my friend , and if you hang Christmas lights up there it's ok to fall ... im sure a cloud will catch you , and I don't think you can crack a cloud!

I met Dr. Olson when I worked for Dr. Feldman as a nurse almost 35 years ago. He was a resident. I always enjoyed his jokes and his ability to make people laugh. I then started Advanced Medical Supply and he referred patients to me for many years. Every time I would have one of his patients he would always tell them to tell me hi. He was a very caring person and physician. I will greatly miss him. My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

Still can't believe this is real! I dont want to find another doctor! There will never be another one like Dr Olson. He was truly one of a kind. Never took anything too serious, except for your health. I was really looking forward to my next appointment with him. I had so much to tell him & needed his advice. He has helped me thru so much in life. He truly cared about his patients. The office has got to be so quiet without him there. Praying for his home family & his office family. ♡♡♡

My heart is absolutely shattered over this. Dr Olson has been my doctor since I was a little girl. He always took me seriously and listened and cared. He was more than a doctor to me. He was my friend. He was my Patch Adams. He was amazing. He cracked jokes every chance he got, but he also handed me tissues, put his hand on my shoulder and was there for me when I cried. The last time I saw him, I was worried about an upcoming surgery. He was there for me and I'll always carry the last conversation I had with him in my heart. This man saved my life and for that, I will be forever grateful. Rest easy, Dr Olson. You've touched so many lives and you will never be forgotten. I will never find another doctor like you and the thought of even looking is gut wrenching. Your staff, whom I love dearly, will be in my thoughts as well as your beautiful family. Words can't express how sorry I am for the tremendous loss of this truly remarkable man.

Dr Olsen was my doctor for 28 years. He will be truly missed. No one has or will have his bed side manner. He could always make me laugh no matter how bad I was feeling. His favorite joke I remember was, Is your face hurting because it is really hurting me. Love you Dr Olsen. God bless. Make heaven laugh.

God Bless, Varlabania.

I'm so at a loss for words. Dr Olson has been our Dr since I moved here in 92. The pain of losing someone like this will be so hard for everyone. He was our HERO Dr, always there for us no matter what. He has saved so many lives, including 2 of my family members. So smart, intelligent, wise and funny. No one can ever replace him. We love you Dr Olson and you will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to the Olson family as we grieve the loss of someone so special, a legend I think we all agree on. May you Rest In Peace

I will always remember Dr. Olson for his cheering at the OSU lacrosse games. "Body Up..." was a common term heard coming from the stands. He was always cracking jokes, and more than happy to allow a couple of college guys to come over and raid his house for a few hours.

From the first time I met him, I knew I would never go anywhere else for my medical needs. He was the best! Well known and loved by all. Always cracking jokes. I saw him for over 20 years and he always cracked on my Steelers outfits which I wore every chance I could get. You will be missed. My heart goes out to your family for this sudden loss. God be with you all. RIP Doc.

I'm in total shock of hearing about Doc's passing. I started seeing doc back in the other building when Dr Ayers was still practicing. I was 18 and pregnant. My entire family, me, both my sister's, my mother, both my children - since their births- now 24 and 25 and my sister's daughter- we were all patients of Dr Olson's. He was THE VERY BEST doctor ever, who made you feel like family. Always asked about the family - going thru the list of each person, he was legitimately interested in how we were doing. He will be horribly missed and there will never be another doctor like him- ever. He was and will always be so admired, loved and fondly remembered. Sending my thoughts and prayers to his family. RIH Doc
