Richard C. Moorhead, age 85, of Upper Arlington, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018. Son of the late William and Marion Moorhead, Dick was born in Du Bois, PA and grew up in Erie, PA. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosella with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Also preceded in death by grandson Zachary Moorhead and sister Barbara Balboni. Dick graduated from Strong Vincent High School, Class of 1951. He proudly served his country from 1953 - 1957 in the US Navy during the Korean War. After his service he attended the Art Institute of Pittsburg and worked as a commercial artist. He later moved to Columbus and began his 28 year career with Columbia Gas. Dick loved to start his day with a good cup of coffee and the sports page. He was kind, humorous and giving, and was a true gentleman. Most importantly, Dick enjoyed being a grandfather and spending time with his family and grand-pup. He will be greatly missed by his loving children, Bob (Julie) Moorhead and Susan (Tony) Poling Jones; grandchildren, Anna Moorhead, Nathan, Jenna, and Sarah Poling, and Penn and Gwyn Jones; and extended family members and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 3-5 P.M. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Northwest Blvd. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43215 or to the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, Ohio 43017.
