G. Nash Obituary

Nash, G. Keith
1925 - 2021
Rev. G. Keith Nash, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on February 5, 2021. He was born August 4, 1925 to the late John and Lula Nash. He is preceded in death by his brother R. Dale Nash and sister H. Virginia Sabo. Keith was married to LaVerne Nash for 72 years and she has many stories to share about their wonderful years together. Keith was born and raised in the Dayton area. After attending Miami U, he left Ohio to pursue a PhD in Chemistry at Northwestern U. However, God had other plans for him and he enrolled in Garrett Theological Seminary to become an ordained Methodist minister. At the request of the Bishop, he returned to Ohio in 1952, where he served four congregations, mostly in central Ohio. He and his family then enjoyed 5 years in Illinois, where he served a special associateship at the First Methodist church in downtown Chicago. Keith returned to the West Ohio Conference for 5 appointments in the last 24 years of his ministry, retiring at Bexley UM in 1991. Keith will always be remembered by those he served as a man of strong faith, humility, kindness, and caring. His loving spirit will be missed every day by his children, Marcia (Mike) Dungan of Beavercreek, Roger (Tricia Hultz) Nash of Worthington, and Karla (Randy) Jones of Dublin. He took great interest in his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mike) Kreger, Jeff Dungan, Joshua (Danielle) Dungan, Marc (Amanda) Ybarsabal, Alexandra Nash, Rachel Jones, and Mitchell (Gauri) Jones and was so proud of all of their accomplishments. He is survived by several great-grandchildren along with two nieces, Pam Anglin, Debbie Welch and their families. Keith and LaVerne's love of travel resulted in family road trips, visiting 30 of the 50 states. Keith would jump at the chance to share hours of video of trips to Alaska, Hawaii, and Europe. Many family memories were made at their vacation cottage on Mullett Lake in Michigan. He enjoyed relaxation, hours of fishing, stunning sunsets, and entertaining family and friends. Following his retirement, Keith and LaVerne became a part of the community at Wesley Glen and resided there for the past 6 years. The family takes comfort in knowing that Keith has entered his eternal home, where his body is young, the lake is stocked with walleye, every single question will be answered, the Buckeyes are victorious, Big Band music is played, you always win at Quiddler, and prime rib is served upon request. Well done, good and faithful servant, well done. Arrangements are entrusted to Shaw-Davis Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life will be held in the future. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at shaw-davis.com. If desired, donations in Keith's memory may be made to: Wesley Glen Charitable Care Fund, 5155 N. High, Columbus 43214.
