Mary Lucille Thomas

Mary Lucille Thomas, age 81, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 21, 1944, to David Sr. and Clotine Goodman, Mary was the eldest of three siblings. She lived a life marked by faith, devotion, service, and love for her family and community.

On September 3, 1966, Mary married Kenneth Eugene Thomas. From this union, they were blessed with three daughters.

Mary was a graduate of West High School and later earned an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies from the Academy of Court Reporting. She retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service as an accountant with Columbia Gas. Following her retirement, she continued her professional journey by working as a paralegal with a local law firm.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Mary was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Cathedral for more than 40 years. Over the course of her life, she was also affiliated with St. Dominic Catholic Church shortly after her marriage and Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church from childhood into adulthood.

Mary found great joy in traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was known for her gentle spirit, wisdom, and kindness, always sharing her knowledge in a loving and encouraging way. She never forgot a birthday, often sending a card or making a call to remind loved ones how much they were cherished. Her Sunday dinners became a treasured weekly tradition, prepared with care and offered as an expression of her love.

Mary will be remembered for her selflessness and unwavering devotion as a sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Carolyn Milner (Ron); her daughters, Lisa Thomas, Tina Stewart, and Carol Thomas; her grandchildren, Brian Thomas, Jonathon Thomas, Scott Thomas, Brandon Stewart, Eric Thomas, Aaron Whiteside, and Mary Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Brian, Giavanna, Justice, Zamorah, Briana, Da'Mii, and Eric Jr.; and her best friend, Debbie Summers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Goodman Sr. and Clotine Goodman; her brother, David Goodman Jr.; her great-aunt, Elizabeth Jackson; her aunts, Gaynell Fowlkes and Margaret Hill; and her grandmother, Mary Hill.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Capital City Hospice for their incomparable support and compassionate care during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Home.
