Bill Guenzel Obituary

Bill Guenzel

Sturgeon Bay - Bill Guenzel of Sturgeon Bay passed away peacefully on May 7th at the age of 74. He was surrounded by family near his second home on Sanibel Island, FL. Born to Paul and Elizabeth Guenzel in Chicago, August 3rd 1946, Bill attended North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, IL. He later majored in art history and design at Williams College in MA. Moving back to Chicago, he studied photography and filmmaking at Columbia College, and finally settling in Door County where he later became a formative part of Great Northern Construction. He is survived by his wife Josephine; his three children Louis, Phoebe and Renata; his sister Lisa Carlin; his niece and nephew, Betsy, Ted and their families.

A public celebration of life will be held at a later date this summer in Door County. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choosing.

Guenzel Family. We were neighbors for 45 years in Fish Creek
He was a kind, thoughtful, generous man. A true committed
community member. He will be greatly missed.
