Richard 'Dick' C. Angell, 51, a lifelong resident of Cloquet, died at the Cloquet Convalescent Nursing Home on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, after fighting a courageous and noble battle with a brain tumor. Dick was born Jan. 24, 1953 in Cloquet to Jalmer and Joyce (Compton) Angell. Dick will always be remembered for his creative and handyman work, his never ending smile, his sense of humor and being a proud Punka. He served as a Machinist Mate in the U.S. Navy. He was extremely proud of his fiber-glass business where he designed and created one-of-a-kind tables which were distributed throughout the upper Midwest. He was one of the original builders of the Big Lake Golf Club. He was employed at Brenny-Dahl Block Company for over 25 years. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 346, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1163, the Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Post 2962 of Carlton, and the Perch Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Welcoming him into heaven is his son, Jeffrey Angell; his father, Jalmer Angell; his sister, Pamela Jacksie; his brother, Terry Angell; and his grandparents. Dick is survived by a very loving and devoted family; his daughter, Bobbikay (Dave) DeLovely; his son, Tony Angell; his special ray of light, granddaughter, Ebony Lynann DeLovely; and a new special gift, granddaughter, Rochelle Cecilia DeLovely; his mother, Joyce Angell; his brother, Tom Angell; his sister, Penney (Del) Prevost; his brother-in-law, Steve Jacksie; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; and aunts and uncles. His family would graciously like to thank Dr. Ken Ripp and the entire staff of the First Floor Cloquet Convalescent Nursing Home for their exceptional care and concern provided to Dick in his final journey. VISITATION:5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. Visitation will resume on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, followed by a reception at the Big Lake Golf Club.
