Anthony Cavalieri Obituary

Former owner of Wood Street Pizza|Anthony Peter Cavalieri, 71, of Bristol, Rhode Island, former owner and operator of Wood Street Pizza, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on July 2, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia Marie (Barboza) Cavalieri to whom he was married on August 4, 1973.



Born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 13, 1953, he was the son of the late Frank Cavalieri, Sr. and the late Caterina (Femino) Cavalieri. He was a lifelong resident of the Bristol community and was a graduate of the Vocational Technical School of Rhode Island having participated in the automotive program.



He was the owner and operator of the former Wood Street Pizza in Bristol for many years until 2021.



Mr. Cavalieri was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church.



For many years, he was a volunteer for the Bristol Volunteer Fire Department and served as the president of the Bristol Pop Warner Football organization.



He was a member and enjoyed times spent at the Cup Defenders Association in Bristol. In his spare time, he enjoyed saltwater fishing, metal detecting and foraging for mushrooms.



In addition to his wife of 52 years, he leaves his sons: Michael Anthony Cavalieri and his wife, Shannon Cavalieri, of Middletown, RI and Dominic Christopher Cavalieri and his girlfriend, Juana Perez, of Bristol, RI; 5 Grandchildren: Toni Cavalieri Barcelos and her husband, Kollen Barcelos, Cynthia Cavaleiri-Correa, Nicole Rodrigues, Violet Cavalieri, and Vincent Cavalieri and one great grandson: Maddox Barcelos.



He was the brother of Domenic Cavalieri, husband of the late Carol Cavalieri, of Bristol, RI; the late Irene Diggs, the late Frank Cavalieri, Jr. and his wife, Margie Cavalieri, of Bristol, RI; Joseph Cavalieri of Bristol, RI; Stephen Cavaleiri, and his wife, BettyAnne Cavaleiri, of Bristol, RI; Mary Nelson and her husband, Richard Nelson, of Coventry, RI; Peter Cavalieri and his wife, Julie Cavalieri, of Bristol, RI; Patricia Carroll and her husband, Kieran Carroll, of Bristol, RI and Paul Cavalieri and his wife, Julie Cavalieri of Bristol, RI and was the uncle of three generations of nieces and nephews.



Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 127 State Street, Bristol, Rhode Island followed by burial at North Burial Ground, Bristol, RI.



Following services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.



In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, One Casino Terrace, Newport, RI 02840.
