David WARAWA Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal from Oct. 2 to Oct. 3, 2011.
WARAWA, David Theodor
On Tuesday, September 27, 2011, Dave Warawa passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60.
Dave was a glass artist, a car restorer, an outdoorsman and a master of many crafts. He passed away suddenly while building his dream house near Elk Island. Dave touched so many lives; inspired, enthused, encouraged and guided. He lived life to the fullest and was, in his loyal and insightful way, our own armchair philosopher. He will be missed beyond words and always remembered by us all, in particular his partner in life, Marianne Lindvall, her daughter Ulrika (Ryan) and son Andreas, his many dear and close friends, brother Rick and sister Wendy, other family - and Hugo, the cat.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2:00 p.m. at St. Agnes, 10826 - 62A Avenue, a church that features many of Dave's stained glass windows. Dave, you will forever have a place in our hearts and be the air that we breathe.

Dear Marianne, Ulrika, Ryan and Andreas ,…. and his good friends and close as well as extended family,
David lovingly took care of all my old stained glass windows in the eighties and mid nineties.
In return I took care of his achy back and shoulder. I heard of the big church project last time we talked….. 1995? Was that St. Agnes?
We all will die; even the meekest of us will succeed at dying. Living is the art; David has mastered the art of living life to the fullest. I am grateful to have shared a glimpse of him.
Take good care of yourselves and each other and keep on living the way David would want you to live. Thinking of you, sending you good thoughts and vibes…

Dear Marianne, Andreas, Ulrika and the rest of the family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My memories of Dave always involved laughter, honest conversation and my name, repeatedly, being mispronounced. I'm thinking about you guys.

To Daves family and Marianne...My deepest sympathy.Dave was one of my dearest and trustworthy friends I had in Edmonton. It was in 1995 that Dave , Sandy and I took a roadtrip in THE FAMOUS PURPLE MAGICBUS to Vancouver Island to celebrate the life of our dear friend Jamie Robertson. We were on the dock at Nanaimo harbour when a dolphin came out of the water and started talking to us at the same time as Jamies ashes were hitting the water......IT was Jamie talking to us......Dave what will you come back as?......I miss you buddy and will look up to the sky and think of you always. Fly the waves......Until we meet again my friend..........
