Eric Lyons Obituary
ELKIN — Mr. Eric Seth Lyons, 46, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born Feb. 20, 1972, in Alleghany County to Billy Charles Lyons and Elizabeth Jane Masten Lyons. Eric was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and an avid racing fan. He was a loving father and was known as having a tender heart and outgoing personality. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Minnie and Hugh Lyons and Susie and Robert Masten. Survivors include his son, Alexander Seth Lyons and his mother, Jayme Shatley, of State Road; father, Billy Charles Lyons and his wife Susan of Jonesville; brothers, Rocky Lyons and his wife Scarlet of Elkin and Robby Lyons and his wife Teresa of Jonesville; sisters, Sandra Blevins and her husband Tim of Elkin and Susan Nance and her husband Roger of Jonesville; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Monday, July 2, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Danny Dodds and the Rev. Joe Wood officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family requests memorials be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017; or Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge, 1912 Boulevard St., Greensboro, NC 27407. The family would like to thank Dr. Kim Kinsley and the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home; Dr. Christopher Connolley of Gastroenterology Associates of the Piedmont, and especially his sister, Sandra L. Eric was one of the greatest guys I have ever met. We were only friends for a short while, but he made me smile on days when all I wanted to do was cry. Talking to him was one of the highlights of my day, almost every day. He will forever hold a special place in my heart. I am definitely praying for all of you right now. And when I think of him, I will always remember his amazing smile and kind heart. May God bless you all during this difficult time.
