Casimir Wozniak Obituary

Casimir "Charles" Wozniak, age 92, of Erie passed away Sunday evening January 15, 2012 at the PA Soldiers and Sailors Home of Erie. He was born in Erie April 15, 1919 son of the late Anthony and Bertha Prychodzien Wozniak. He was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette Halupczynski Wozniak, a son, Charles L. Wozniak, three sisters, Stella Baranowski, Henrietta Goldsmith, Regina Konieczko and six brothers, Mac, Alphonse, Stanley, Vincent, Joseph and Edward Wozniak. He is survived by two daughters, Judith Rainsberger and her husband, Lee of Erie, Camille Thompson and her husband, Mark of Erie, a son, Paul Wozniak and his wife, Therese of Connecticut, and a daughter-in-law, Linda Wozniak. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Charles was a long time member of St. Casimir Church. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the Erie General Electric in 1980 after 30 years service and was a member of the G .E. Quarter Century Club. Charles was an avid gardener. Friends may call at the Mark G. Razanauskas Funeral Home, 701 East Avenue, Erie, Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. where a prayer service will be conducted Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Casimir Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank 1507 Grimm Dr. Erie, PA 16501 or to the A. N. N. A. Shelter 1555 E. 10th St. Erie, PA 16511

As an employee at GE, I worked a number of years with "Charley", which was the name we used for him. He was a hard worker and produced quality work which he was proud of. Had many good times with him. Condolences

I'm so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. He was a good friend of my grandparents, James and Rita Bobrowicz. Whenever I would visit them it was not uncommon to find Charlie and Grandpa sitting on the the porch together, shooting the breeze. My deepest condolences to his family.
