Ronald M. Martone

Ronald M. Martone, 81, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at UPMC Hamot.

He was born on December 5, 1936, in Naples, Italy, son of the late Angelo Mario and Maria (Sautelli) Martone.

Ronnie came to the U.S. when he was 15 and quickly learned the English language. He lived in New Castle, Pa. before moving to Erie in the 50s, where he worked the night shift at Marx toys. Ronnie became a mechanic by trade, but also played accordion in a local band. Ronnie loved betting on the ponies, and after retiring from Rick Weavers, he worked alongside his daughter at her antique shop.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila M. Martone; sister, Valentia Onoforio; and brother, Adelio Martone.

He is survived by his wife, Delta L. (Gorney) Martone; daughters, Yvonne Pace (Bruno) of Summit Township and Elia M. Nolan (Jon) of Erie; grandchildren, Kyle, Elise and Elaine Martone, Samantha Bradney (Brandon), Donald Studor and Alec Nolan; great-grandchildren, Charlee and Rylinn Bradney and Gavin Studor; sisters, Elia DeBlasio (Alberto) of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Eda Raccio of Naples, Italy; sister-in-law, Carmela Martone of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street, at Greengarden Boulevard, on Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark O'Hern officiating.

Private burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
