Michael Kirby Obituary
Mr. Kirby was born in Cades, a son of the late Eugene Talmadge and Emmie Covington Kirby. He was owner/operator of Kirby's Machine Shop, a member of Floyd's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was President of Men Fellowship and was President of Hebron Saddle Club.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela Powell Kirby of Cades; one son, Michael David "Mikey" Kirby of Cades; two daughters, Pamela Marie Kirby of Cades and Michelle Dennison of Lake City; five sisters, Kathy Kirby (Ronny) Cox of Cades, Janice Kirby (Wesley) McCutcheon of Lake City, Judy Kirby (J.W.) Brown of Sumter, Dianne Kirby (Mack) Miles of Sardinia and Blanche Kirby (Neese) Moore of Lynchburg; one brother, Ronald (Belvadeen) Kirby of Cades; one granddaughter, Cortney Dennison of Lake City.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in the Floyd's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Free Will Baptist Home for Children, PO Box 229, Turbeville, SC 29162.
Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.

Michael I always think about you but even more this week. I know my life would be very different if were here to help me. You knew all along how things would turn out. You & Daddy. Like you once said to me, "It's like watching a movie of someone else's life." It's wild how crazy & out of control life gets. I miss you, I knew you loved me no matter what. Well Big Brother,
It's been nine long months without you. No phone calls demanding I come RIGHT THEN to see the latest project you completed at 11:00 at night. No calls where you would not talk to me until I fully stated my name as Kathy Kirby Cox. No Christmas morning call. No garden,Marie & Mikey still talk about having to replant those potatoes before going to the beach for spring break. Boy, those fresh potatoes were good that day you fried them under your carport, except for Pam's heavy hand with the salt. No rather large items, that I would classify as junk, being hauled in on a tractor trailer of Ral's. No suppers on Thursday night. No riding with you! No more horse shows with you!
Our first show without you is coming up and I can't imagine it without you. I was always your number one gopher for the horse show. I guess I'll change jobs this year. I don't take orders very well! You never gave them to me, you always said & I quote "Kathy, would you mind going to your house and getting me every fan you have? You always asked, you never told or demanded things of me. I guess that's why I didn't mind doing things for you or doing things your way. So many people miss you, you touched so many lives. Your family misses you the most. I love you.

My Dearest Michael:
Well Mike, It has been 3 months, 2 days, and 3 hours since that awful day I lost you and my world and my heart felt like it exploted into a million pieces. I really never knew how much you played a part in my life until now, but you were my world!!!!!!!!!!!!!and I know now I will never feel this way about anyone else in my whole life again. I look back on our life together, and no one truly knows the life we shared, our ups and downs, our heartache and pain, our laughter and tears, our happy times and sad times and all our secrets we shared, and most of all our understanding of each other, but us and that's ok, we knew. We loved each other no matter what and we never gave up on each other, and by the grace of God we made it to the end, "UNTIL DEATH DO US PART" and no one can take that from me, they can talk all they want and thats ok too. I am so Glad that God gave us that last month like he did, and we were able to talk and buried our past as we did, I am so glad you know everything. I have carried a lot around for a long time but no more, you knew all and most of all I am so glad you LOVED ME STILL IN SPITE OF ALL, YOU LOVED ME AND I LOVED YOU UNTIL THE END, Isn't that what real love is, what happens in the end after everthing is said and done and we are still together, always remember I LOVED YOU AND STILL LOVES YOU TO THIS DAY AND ALWAYS WILL.

Well Michael, can you believe it's Christmas? It sure doesn't seem like Christmas because you're not here with us. We all miss you so much. It's still hard to believe you're not with us. Everyone misses you so much, especially Skeet. You would be proud of Mikey and Marie, they are really helping their Mom out so much. Pam is doing better, but still misses you so.
Brandon and Cameron really can't understand where you are, they just miss their Uncle Michael and want to see you.
We all sent you a message this morning, I hope you got it. I know that you are in a far better place and that one day we will see you again.
