Robert Hallman Obituary

Mr. Robert Douglas Hallman, 56, of Sellman, Montgomery County, died Thursday, Dec. 9, at Greater Southeast Community Hospital, Washington.

Born Jan 18, 1943, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late John Henry and Florence Anna Onley Hallman.

Mr. Hallman attended Lincoln High School in Rockville.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, singing and playing the guitar.

He was a brick mason and carpenter and helped build Norbeck Community Church, Norbeck, where he had requested his funeral services be held.

Surviving are two daughters, Lachera Hallman of Germantown, and Annette Bishop and husband Robert Sr. of Frederick; one son, Robert Douglas Hallman Jr. of Gaithersburg; seven grandchildren, Michael Carter, Brittney Hallman, Robert Bishop Jr., Marcus Hallman, Brandon Bishop, Zaina Hallman and Justin Bishop; four brothers, Leroy Hallman, John Hallman, Lawrence Hallman and Joe Hallman; four sisters, Sarah Thompson, Nancy Onley, Rosie Inabinett and Dorothy Hallman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He will also be remembered by his former wife Gloria Hallman, to whom he had been married for 16 years.

Mr. Hallman was preceded in death by three brothers, James Barnes, Charles Hallman and Roosevelt Hallman.

The family received friends Thursday, Dec. 16, at Norbeck Community Church, Norbeck, where funeral services were also held Thursday, with Pastor L. J. Robinson officiating.

Interment was in Mount Zion-Warren Church Cemetery, Dickerson.
