Yvan Silva Obituary
Yvan José das Dores Silva (Dr. Yvan Silva), b.July 8, 1936, died on 08/19/2020. He was baptized in Gloria Church, Bombay, India. His life as an academic physician and surgeon, author, and in music - as a lyricist, performer, and recording artist is chronicled in Yvan Silva-A Cybermemoir and available on www.yvansilva.com.
Survivors are his beloved daughters, Julie Silva of Encinitas, CA and Jennifer Mitchell of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Amy White (Julie and Arnie White) and Charlie and Katie Mitchell(Jennifer and John Mitchell). Brother Olaf (Sonia) Silva, Lake Mary, FL, and sister Brenda (Saeed) Silva-Mirza, Montreal Canada.

So sorry to hear about Yvan Uncle. I have vivid memories of staying with him in Detroit when I was 16, accompanying him to the Merv Griffin Show and really spending time with him. I still remember him giving me $100 when I was all of 13 and with a note that said it was my very own start for America. An old friend of my dad and mom who was so fond of him. My condolences to Olaf uncle, Brenda Aunty and the rest of his family.

I was so saddened to hear of Dr Silvas death. He was my Dr. and he was the most loving amazing man! I will miss him dearly. I am also glad to know he was a Christian and will see him i heaven on day.

It has been a few days but I was coming to terms at a loss of someone who was so good to me even when he did not know me. I owe Yvan a lot. Back in 1976 when I came to the US with no job and no money I was told by Melville his cousin and my med school friend to contact Yvan if needed. After a month of trying I called Yvan. He told me to come to Detroit and see him I did and in 2 days I was a surgical resident. That is unforgetable and no amount of thanks can be said that is the essence pf the man. Later I realized he was helpful to many and expected nothing in return. I will miss this man and friend may he RIP. Our deepest condolences to his family. Kripa & Jim
