James Steward McIntosh

Milford - James Steward McIntosh, a long time resident of Milford, died on February 24, 2018 at the age of 87.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sally Walker-McIntosh, his children; Aengus (Shasta) McIntosh, Elizabeth (Jeff) Dalziel, Cameron McIntosh. Her children, William (Donna) Walker III, Kelly Walker, and Tracey Walker; and their grandchildren, Mannon, Callum, Havanna, Vaidden, Durrgen McIntosh, Michael McIntosh, Chloe, William IV, Elanore and Amelia Walker; sisters, Mary (Dean) Kaylor, Bonnie (the late Dick) Palmer, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas McIntosh, and his brother, Bill McIntosh.

James was a member of the 1956 U.S. Olympic 4-Oared Silver Medal winning rowing team in Sydney, Australia, along with participating and medaling in many other competitive games for the United States. He was retired from the General Motors Proving Ground in Milford, where he worked as an engineer for thirty years. In retirement he attended and graduated from carpenter's trade school and also enjoyed working as a parking attendant at Novi High School.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford, on Wednesday, February 28, from 9:30AM - 11:15AM, in procession to St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 1955 E. Commerce Rd., Milford, for Mass of the Resurrection, at 11:30AM with The Rev. Msgr. John Budde officiating.

Memorials may be made in his name to the "Friends of Detroit Rowing," 27551 Packham Dr., Lathrup Village, MI 48076, for the advancement of youth rowing. For further information please phone 248-684-6645 or visit www.LynchandSonsMilford.com
