JOHN GILMORE Obituary

GILMORE, JOHN L.

John L. Gilmore, known to friends as Jack, died after a brief illness, on August 11, 2011, at the age of 82.

He graduated from Dushore High School, PA in 1948. Jack joined the US Air Force and served as a financial administrative specialist in Fairbanks, AK during the Korean War. He was a former member of the American Legion. Jack was a native of PA and former resident of upstate NY. He moved to Florida in 1968 and worked in the propane gas business until he retired. He and his wife loved to travel and spent most of their retired lives traveling across the US.

He is survived by Lee, his wife of 48 years. Children, Mark Gilmore (Marlene) of WI, Karen Podrecca (Joe) of MA, Meg Gilmore of CA, and stepchildren, Teri Wylie (Ken), Steve Arcangeli (Debi), both of Williston, FL, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, his sister Teresa Gilmore, PA, sister-in-law Barb Prescott, FL, nephew Rick Prescott, PA and his beloved dog, Cricket. He is preceded in death by his brother William Gilmore and stepson, Kevin Arcangeli.

A graveside service, with military recognition, will be held at l0:00 am on September 17, 2011 at Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston, FL. Go to http://jackgilmore.weebly.com .
