Anner Bell “Lucy” Goudelock

1946 - 2016

Mrs. Anner Bell "Lucy" Goudelock, 69, of Hazel Crest, Ill., passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at Waterford Estates Senior Living Facility, Hazel Crest, Ill., of natural causes.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at that time.

Mrs. Goudelock was born Aug. 16, 1946, to the late John Henry Edward and Emmerline Cheeks. Although a lifelong resident of Hall County, Ga., she spent the last year in Hazel Crest, Ill. She was a member of Cross Plains Baptist Church. Mrs. Goudelock retired from the Hall County Board of Education in 2006. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society at Waterford Estates Senior Living Facility, Hazel Crest, Ill. She enjoyed good food, reading, outings with friends and family and participating in arts and crafts.

Mrs. Goudelock was preceded in death by her husband, Cedric K. Goudelock and daughter, Veronique A. Gowdy.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, C. Jerome and Tamara Goudelock of Chicago, Ill.; son-in-law, David Gowdy of Hephzibah, Ga.; sister, Geraldine Stephens of Flowery Branch; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Eddie R. and Monique Cheeks of Augusta; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Gowdy of Hephzibah, Ga., and Michele Booth of Chicago, Ill.; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
