David and I met Steve when we were 22 and living in Wyoming. Steve introduced David to the river and taught him to kayak, raft and fly fish. I know some of David's fondest memories include Steve and that when he is on the river he always thinks of Steve. We loved and admired him and are so sad he's gone too soon. May you find peace and comfort.

Steve was the "motivator" every time I kayaked with him. He was always up for another trip down the river and his enthusiasm was contagious. He will be missed dearly by all his kayaking friends.

Oh Mickey, Rich and Keith, I hope all of those wonderful memories of those years at Seeley bring some measure of comfort to you all, in your loss. Steve was a wonderful person and a great outdoorsmen. He will be remembered by many and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers as you say goodbye and adjust to life without Steve. Those of us who were fortunate enough to have known Steve, have much richer lives, because of him. Blessings on you and your families.

The paddling community has lost one of the greats. Having Steve on the river was like having a guardian angel waiting around the bend. May peace and love be with his family.

We'll miss seeing Steve, that stealthy mystery boater who'd show up out of nowhere and then disappear just as quick, but he'll always be with us - not forgotten.

May G-d bless & hold you safely as you continue your pursuits in the life beyond. We had a great son who I'm sure will make you proud. Thank you for teaching him skills that I could not; for that I'm forever grateful.
