Erin Nankee Obituary

Nankee (Vander Loop), Erin Marie

DEERFIELD-Erin Marie Nankee (Vander Loop), age 32, of Deerfield, Wis., was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016. She was born on July 29, 1983, in Green Bay, Wis., to Ralph and Lynn Vander Loop. Her strong faith led her to marry the love of her life, Gabriel Nankee, on Oct. 24, 2015. She was a graduate of Ashwaubenon High School, and received a bachelor's and master's degree from The University of Wisconsin-Madison. Erin was tremendously gifted and intelligent, excelling in every academic honor including her master's degree in Higher Education. After graduation, she was employed by Ernst & Young in Chicago. Her career continued in Madison, Wis., in the banking investment field. Erin was a loving, caring and beautiful woman who always put others before herself. This drove her passion for volunteering which included teaching kindergarten at a Cambodian Orphanage. Other organizations dear to her include the Ronald McDonald House and Madison Friends of International Students, among so many others. With her adventurous spirit she spent a semester studying abroad and traveled throughout Europe. Erin loved to dance, sing, attend performing arts, poetry, traveling, biking and spending time with family and friends. Through her volunteering she met many beloved friends which created the path of God placing Gabriel in her life. Erin and Gabriel's greatest joys were spending time loving each other and growing in their faith. Together Erin and Gabriel shared their faith, led a Bible study and attended many favorite sporting events. Erin is survived by her husband, Gabriel; her parents, Ralph and Lynn Vander Loop of Lake Geneva; her sister, Dawn (Mike) Plumb of South Elgin, Ill. ; father and mother-in-law, Dan and Lois Nankee of Highland; brother-in-law, Luke (Cassie) Nankee of Madison; sister-in-law, Megan (Paul) Check of Kimberly; nieces, Natalie Check and Anne Marie Plumb and nephews, Ethan, Matthew and William Plumb; grandma, Kathryn Nankee of Muscoda and grandma, Patricia Hendzel of Green Bay; her treasured dog, Rosie; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, George and Antoinette Vander Loop; maternal grandfather, Edwin Hendzel; Gabriel's grandparents, Pat and LaVon Watson and Robert Nankee; and Gabriel's sister, Erin Nankee. A service to celebrate Erin's life will be held at CALVARY CHAPEL, 4702 E. Broadway, Madison, at 1 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, with Pastor Jeff Solwold and Pastor Brian Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 401 Femrite Dr., Monona, at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., on Monday. Above all her accomplishments in life, her greatest joy was being born again and knowing Jesus her Savior. Erin loved her husband dearly and was so happy she married her best friend. She cherished family and deeply cared for her nephews and nieces. She will be sadly missed by all the lives she touched and will remain in our hearts. Erin is in heaven smiling down upon all those who love her. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Erin was honestly one of the sweetest, nicest, and friendliest girls I ever met. She was the type of person that would have given you the shirt off her back no questions asked and she would have done it with a smile. To her husband, parents, Dawn and Mike, nieces, nephews, family, and friends I am so sorry for your loss. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel but, we have surely lost one down on Earth.
