Clarence Ross Turner, Jr.

Greenville

Clarence Ross Turner, Jr. died on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, surrounded by his family.

Born in Fork Shoals, SC, he was the son of the late Clarence Ross Turner, Sr. and Myrtie Jenkins Turner. He was married for 61 years to Anne Summers Turner.

He was a graduate of Fork Shoals High School and Clemson University, Class of 1954. He was a member of IPTAY and Eastlan Baptist Church.

He was the founder of Clarence Turner Insurance, now The Turner Agency, Inc. in Greenville. He loved fishing, Clemson football, and being with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Melissa Turner Smith and her husband, Donnie of Jamestown, NC; Clarence Ross Turner III and his wife, Julie of Greenville; Carole Turner Ward and her husband, Brad of Greenville; his grandchildren, Ashley and Maggie Kennedy; Clay, Carey, and Ellis Turner; Tinsley and Austin Ward; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Mildred Turner Childers, Doris Turner Crawford, Lois Turner Hall, and Thelma Turner Thomason.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastlan Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605 or to the charity of one's choice.
