Marguerite Weinberg Obituary

Marguerite Weinberg, 75, of Hartford, Connecticut, passed away on November 12, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Marvin Weinberg for 56 years. Born in Marrakech, Morocco, the daughter of the late Nissim and Esther Perez. Marguerite bravely fought her battle with Alzheimer's, always with dignity, grace, and a smile. A doting wife, mother, and grandmother, no task was too great for her to undertake to make her family happy. Marguerite loved to spend time with friends and family, and travel the world to see them. A gifted cook, she excelled in creating new dishes and putting her own spin on classic cuisine. Marguerite will be remembered lovingly by her children: Sheila Reiner and her husband Michael of Farmington, and Brian Weinberg and his wife Nancy, of West Hartford. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Sarah and Jacob Reiner, and Samuel and Danielle Weinberg. Marguerite is also survived by her sisters, Elise Lasry and Mimi Karsenty, as well as her brothers, Guy Perez and Albert Perez, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Marguerite was predeceased by her siblings, Joe Perez, Suzanne Kravitz, Jacques Perez, and Collette Perez. Special thanks to all those at the Avery Heights Burnham Memory Care Unit, who gave Marguerite such amazing care. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth El Temple Cemetery, 51 Jackson Street, Avon, CT. Immediately following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association/Avery Heights Greater Hartford Walk, C/O Holly Taylor-Fry, Director of the Burnham Family Residence, Avery Heights, 705 New Britain Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106.
