Leon DeCerb Obituary

DeCERB, Leon B. Leon B. DeCerb Sr., 85, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away Wednesday, (January 2, 2008) at the Hospital of St. Raphael's after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Mary l. (Wright) DeCerb. Born March 1, 1922 in New Haven, a son of the late John and Jessie (LaPort) DeCerb. Leon was employed by Scovills and Century Brass for 31 years before his retirement in 1982. He lived in Kissimmee, FL for 17 years and most recently returned to reside in Plantsville. He is survived by his four children, Donna and William Burnes of Waterbury, Craig and Marcy DeCerb of Marion, Leon and Annette DeCerb, Jr. of Greensburg, PA and Jessica and Charles DiVito of Waterbury; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N.
