I am sorry to find out that Janet passed. She wasa nice lady. I am the one who sold her ragdoll, Sebastian, to her. I hope that Sebastian is being well taken care of and I'm sure he misses her too.

Auntie,

Words cannot express my feelings right now. I am still not able to comprehend that I will never hear your voice and get to have lunch with you. I had so much to learn from you and I will try my best to learn those things on my own now. I will never forget our birthday lunches (you still owe me one for the big 3-0) and of course “pasta surprise”. The look of horror on my face and your hysterical laughter as Bruiser helped himself to my bowl will always be etched in my mind. Your recognition of my scream of triumph followed by the pounding of the stairs as I came up to tell you what I most recently won to be greeted at the door with, “So what'd you win now?” will always be a memory that will make me smile. I love that we had the back stairway to let the cats visit each house as they please and then the ferocious rounding up of cats to each household that followed. (It was always hard to get Cinder out of the fresh laundry pile or the fridge.) I feel so honored to have held Cinder on my lap when we picked him up to bring him home and to have been able to name him after one of the character's cats in a book I was reading at the time. I most definitely get my love of reading from my mom and you and love that I am able to have a library in the house with tons of books to pour through and eventually read. Every time I plant a flower I will know that you are with me. I'll forever miss our trips to local gardening centers and you and mom teaching me the names, both common and botanical, of all the flowers and where best to plant them. Whenever I eat a tomato and toast sandwich, to the chagrin of the family (I don't see what's wrong with having a couple slices of tomato on nice warm toast), I will think of you and know that you are with me.
