I found out today about Nancy's passing.
I have thought of her often and am sorry we had, for the most part, lost touch these last couple of years.
I credit Nancy for renewing my love of art and so admired her for all the work, love and vision she put into her teaching and her art center.
She was a great friend and I am saddened I was not present for her in this last journey.
Love to Steve, Amy and Allison - both of your parents showed me MANY kindnesses - they were wonderful people. Wishing you comfort and love with all of your many memories.

To Nancy's family, whom she spoke of often with great care and appreciation: I knew her only about 12 years, after moving to the area in 2000. Participating in her classes, helping out on occasion, and sharing some casual experimental art-making with her was a great pleasure for me, as she was encouraging, patient, and supportive of all attempts at creativity, no matter how limited the student (of all ages). She was so knowledgeable and expert, yet so humble. Her art spoke for her! She will be missed.

To the family - How talented, dedicated, honest and giving Nancy was. I taught her pastel many years ago and as a student she absorbed all that was given to her. She then passed on all of her knowledge and expertise to all that wanted it. She was a great lady, a strong loving woman and she most of all possessed the "Art Spirit" She will be missed.

To All of Nancy's family:
She talked so often and was so proud of all of you and her adored Grand Children.
When we went for a ride recently, her sweet and kind soul was ever so present in the midst of her courageous fight to live. She always had a concern about how other's were doing, despite her brave battle.
In September, we stopped at McDonald's. She was craving a burger, fries and a Shake. As I drove her back to Gladeview, she was oohing and aahing and so enjoying the taste of her meal, still so excited to appreciate the sensation and pleasure of her present moment.
That is how I will remember her, living and being present and respecting each moment. Her beautiful art work reflects for all of us her life's experiences, as she once shared with me.
What a wonderful gift of talent, she leaves to all of us to observe. and to continue to learn from.
God Bless you kind Nancy ~ Your faith has brought you home to your Loving God, Marvin and all of your family ~ whom awaited you.
