Paul L. Turcotte

1923 - 2015

Paul. L. Turcotte, 91 of Manchester, husband of the late Lily (Anderson) Turcotte, died Wednesday, January 13, 2015 at Manchester Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Paul was also predeceased by his former wife, Doris (Cole) Pontillo, and his special friend in New Hampshire, Lorraine Dickerman. He was born in Lowell, MA on August 4, 1923, son of Samuel and Florence (Morell) Turcotte. He lived most of his life in Manchester and was veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy. He was a parishioner of St. James Church, a member of American Legion Post 102, and retired as superintendent of the Wilgoose laboratory of the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company in East Hartford after forty years of service. He then moved to New Hampshire and resided there for 25 years before returning to Manchester in 2006. Paul was an avid and meticulous wood-worker, making children's toys and a intricate and detailed grandfather clock. He had an extensive collection of model automobiles which he assembled himself, and in his younger years was a member of the Black Knights Archery Club of Tolland. He is survived by his daughter, Bette (Arigno) Martel and her husband Donat of Manchester; two grandchildren, John R. Arigno and his wife Brenda, and Jodi Thompson and her husband Brad; three great-grandchildren, Amber Woods, Lt. Jake Arigno US Army, and Lindsey Arigno; two nephews and a niece, Stephen Turcotte, Richard Turcotte, and Carol Terlesky. He also leaves his step-children, Lee Ann Daigle of Manchester, Russell A. Daigle in New Hampshire, Steven P. Daigle of Manchester, and Donald L. Daigle in Florida; three step-grandchildren, Jacob, Kaitlyn, and Zachary Daigle, and a step-great-granddaughter, Lily Daigle. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 9:15 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester. Burial with military honors will follow in the East Cemetery in Manchester. Visiting hours are Monday, Jan. 19 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
