Eleanor Dube

1928 - 2019

Eleanor Dube, 90, passed away January 19, 2019. Eleanor was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Charles and Esther Rossi. She was married to Lewis Dube (d.1996) for 46 years. Raised in East Hartford, CT., she was a graduate of East Hartford High and attended some classes at Hillyer College. After working at the Aetna Life Insurance Company and United Aircraft Export Company, she became Clerk of the Probate Court for the Town of East Hartford from 1959 through 1964. In 1969 she was employed as a Service Representative for Society for Savings, a job she held for 19 years before retiring in 1988.While in East Hartford Eleanor was a member of the Society Employee's Club, the Women's Democratic Club, the East Hartford Women's Club and the Emblem Club. The family moved to South Windsor in 1969 and remained there until retiring to Cape Cod in 1990. While at the Cape she remained active as a member of the Friends of Yarmouth, as well as participating in the Bass River Beach Club bowling team, Needle Point, Bridge and Swedish Weaving. She attended services at First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable. In April of 2018 she moved to stay with her son Steven and his wife Dyann in Prospect, TN where she enjoyed watching the deer in the front yard and attending services at First Baptist Church of Pulaski and watching her beloved Red Sox win the World Series.She is pre-deceased by her husband Lewis J. Dube and sister Elsie Huntington.She leaves behind two sons Steven and his wife Dyann Dube of Prospect TN, and Charles and his wife Holly Dube of East Longmeadow MA. Grand children: Erik Serrell-Dube of Manchester CT, Justin Dube of Tolland, CT and Hannah Dube of East Longmeadow, MA. Granddaughter in laws: Anne Serrell-Dube and Amanda Dube. Great Grandchildren: Brianna Dube, Noah Serrell-Dube, Mason Emery, and Ethan Emery. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Hillside Cemetery in East Hartford, CT. calling hours will be held from 10-11 AM Friday January 25, 2019, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11:00 at Newkirk and Whitney/ Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford CT 06108.
