Donald M. Dube

Saco

Donald Maurice Dube, 78 of Saco, a loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Maine Heath-Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.

He was born in Biddeford, Maine on January 21, 1948, a son of Leo and Alberta (Taylor) Dube. Don was educated in the Biddeford School System and graduated from St. Louis High School class of 1966. He attended Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute (now Southern Maine Community College) receiving a Trades and Industries degree. He went on to do coursework at University of Southern Maine in Gorham, and it was here that he met the love of his life, Theresa Buck. The couple married in 1970 moving to Biddeford where they raised their three children Sharon, Nicole and Chet.

Don first began his working career with several local plumbing and heating companies. In 1981 he founded Eastern Mechanical Inc., a successful and well-respected plumbing and HVAC company in Biddeford. He officially retired in 2018.

Don cared about the plumbing industry, and it was important to him to provide safe, high quality work opportunities.

He participated in local, state, New England and National level trade conferences throughout his career and met many lifelong friends and colleagues.

Don was a natural athlete playing football while at St. Louis High School. As an adult, Don was an avid golfer, spending many weekends on the courses for couples golf with Theresa, as well as numerous rounds played with good friends. As Don transitioned to part-time retirement, he and Theresa spent winters in Florida along with many friends from the Biddeford Saco Country Club.

Don was a die-hard sports fan and loved rooting for all the New England teams. He enjoyed boating on the Saco River and in the ocean with his family. He was quick to tell stories about his annual sailing adventures with his brother-in-law Marty.

Don was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed watching them play the sports they loved and actives they enjoyed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Theresa Dube; daughter Sharon Dube and husband John, daughter Nicole Dube, son Chet Dube and wife Laura; by three grandchildren Fox, Birch and Scout; by his brother Raymond Dube and wife Terese; as well as by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Don had a heart for serving others and was generous supporter of many charities and organizations within the Biddeford-Saco community. He will be sadly missed by many.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James Street, Saco. Doors will open at 9am for the family to welcome guests. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
