Sarah Antoinette Connor, 93 of Saco, ME passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19th, 2026 with her daughter and grandson by her side.

Sarah is survived by her son Richard L. Connor and Partner Mike Chovonec of Baltimore, MD; her daughter Diane of Saco, ME; her two grandchildren, Craig C. Wood and wife Briana of Saco, ME; Sarah E. Lafortune (Wood) and husband Mike of Biddeford, ME; four beautiful great granddaughters, Caroline and Isla Wood; Marah and Zoe Lafortune. She also left many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard "Dick" E. Connor, two brothers, Joseph and Louis Bazzano and her son in law Craig A. Wood.

Known as "Nonny" by those that loved her, Sarah was born in Pittsfield, MA on May 21, 1932, the daughter of Luigi and Anna Petruzelo Bazzano. She graduated from Pittsfield High School and married Dick Connor soon after, on June 9, 1951. She celebrated 60 years of marriage with Richard in 2011.

Sarah worked several jobs before spending the majority of her career working at Pittsfield City Hall, retiring in 1987. Sarah was very active and enjoyed bowling, golfing as well as dominoes and cards with her friends weekly. She loved the casino and would take trips to Atlantic City as well as Foxwoods with Dick. Sarah loved watching football and was an avid Patriots fan. Sarah and Dick also spent ten years going to Florida for the winter and over 30 years taking summer vacations to Maine and New Hampshire with her children and grandchildren. She loved celebrating holidays and getting together with her family.

Sarah and Dick moved to Saco, ME in 2006 with their daughter and son-in-law. Upon arriving in Saco, she began volunteering at the Shaker Hill Kitchen, Altrusa and The Dyer Museum. It was also around this time that she went out and purchased herself a Nintendo Wii in order to help stay active and on her feet. She got very good at Wii bowling. Sarah spent the final 30 months of her life living at The Enclave of Scarborough. Her family thanks the staff there for the compassion and dignity they treated Sarah with as well as Compassus Hospice Scarborough, who helped care for Sarah for the last year of her life.

Services will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St Jude hospital or Compassus Hospice Scarborough in Sarah's name.
