Judith M. Brooks

Judith M. Brooks, age 84, of Dalton passed away peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center on February 22, 2026.

Born in Pittsfield on July 27, 1941, Judy was a daughter of the late Matthew and Jessie Duda. She was a 1959 graduate of Pittsfield High School and went on to work for General Electric Company as a young woman. She later started at Crane & Co. where she worked until her retirement.

Judy was married to David Brooks, who passed over 30 years ago. The two spent many weekends going on motorcycle rides and they loved their adventures together. As she got older, Judy enjoyed puzzles and watching her shows at home.

Mrs. Brooks was a member of St. Agnes Church. She was also a longtime volunteer for the Dalton Senior Center and the local food pantries. She always kept busy and loved to help others. Judy was an avid animal lover and gave home to countless cats and dogs over the years.

Judy is survived by her son, David J. Brooks of Dalton, her three grandchildren, Jessie, JD and Jake Brooks, and three great grandsons. She also leaves her siblings, Shirley A. DiNicola, Matthew Duda (Joanne) and John Duda (Linda), and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Matthew Brooks in 2014.

SERVICES: Visitation at the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 E Main St. Dalton, will be Thursday March 5, 2026 beginning at 3PM. A funeral home prayer service will begin at 4PM. Burial will be at a later date.
