Paul Smith Obituary
He was a 1969 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. Smith had worked as Maintenance Supervisor at Rice's Silk Mill for many years until it's closing. A past member of the Richmond Volunteer Fire Department, he enjoyed playing in a Pitch league, a bowling league, reading westerns and doing puzzles. He also loved observing nature, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a NASCAR fan especially Dale Earnhardt and Kevin Harvick.
Mr. Smith is survived by his siblings, Joyce Phelps (Scott), Gloria Morse, Ernest Smith (Pam) and Neil Smith, all of Richmond. His daughter, Sandra Smith and partner John Wilcox of Pittsfield and son Cody Smith of Hinsdale. He also leaves two grandchildren, Brodie Wilcox and Hailey Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews, especially Jay and Chris. He was predeceased by his daughter Noel.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Dery Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
