Deborah Hall Obituary

Sad news from our family: Deborah Ann Hall (Walto), age 70, died unexpectedly at her home in Housatonic, Massachusetts, on January 29, 2026. She resided at 63 High Street.

Deborah was born at home in Foster, Rhode Island, on June 4, 1955, to Anna Colavecchio Hall and William J. Hall, both of whom predeceased her. She was the youngest of six children in a large and close-knit family.

Deb graduated from Pittsfield High School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from North Adams State College (now MCLA). She later went on to receive a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. Deb worked for many years as an accountant before advancing to become Chief Financial Officer of a

nonprofit organization in the Berkshires.

She was widely known for preparing taxes for those who "hadn't a clue," offering not only meticulous accuracy but reassurance and peace of mind through her careful, detailed work. Over the years, Deb held many professional roles, including positions with Community Health Programs, Elise Farrar, and private clients-careers that

allowed her to combine her love of numbers, math, and her exceptional organizational skills.

Outside of work, Deb was a gifted and creative soul. She enjoyed many crafts, including designing and creating beautiful Victorian-style jewelry sold on Etsy under the name Zur Designs. She was also an accomplished knitter, and many family members cherish their annual pair of "Deb Socks"-soft, roomy, and always a joy to receive at Christmas.

Deb was a constant and comforting presence at family celebrations, and it is difficult to imagine future gatherings without her warm smile. She was a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction and loved her Kindle. Highly skilled with computers and the internet, Deb was often the go-to helper for family members navigating technical

challenges. Her quiet, reassuring presence was a true gift. She will be missed in countless ways, every day, and her memory will always be cherished.

Deborah was predeceased by her brother, Richard A. Hall of Florida, and her sisters Judith Votolato of Narragansett, Rhode Island; Elizabeth Flynn of New Mexico and Rhode Island; and Catherine Oiumette of Johnston, Rhode Island.

She is survived by her sister Patricia Hall Pellegrino of Lenox, Massachusetts, and her husband Franco; her goddaughter and niece Lauren Pellegrino of Lenox; her nephew Jeffrey Oiumette of Foxboro, Massachusetts, his wife Jennifer, and their children Lucy, Lily, JJ, and Frankie. Deb was also very close to her nephew Chris, his partner

Lisa Sanita, and her nephew Rob, all of Rhode Island. She leaves many nieces, including Erinn Flynn, who spent recent months visiting with Auntie Deb in Lenox, as well as numerous nephews, cousins, and friends.

Deb will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but she will be kept close in our hearts always.

Funeral Notice: A Celebration of Deborah's life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main Street Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
