Arthur J. Salvadori

Arthur Joseph Salvadori, 86, of Newington, Connecticut, beloved husband of Janice (Naples) Salvadori passed away Saturday, January 30th. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, son of the late Arthur and Rena Salvadori, he grew up in East Hartford before moving to Hartford where he attended Bulkeley High School and graduated in 1953. He later attended the Hartford Institute of Accounting where he received a degree in accounting in 1955. He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1963 where he trained at Fort Dix in New Jersey and was stationed abroad in France for a majority of his service. After leaving the service he spent most of his career working as an accountant for the State of Connecticut Department of Labor until he retired in 1997. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his wife of 48 years, his sons, and his loving grandchildren. He leaves behind his wife Janice, sons and daughters-in-law Arthur and Jaime Salvadori of Newington and Richard and Tara Salvadori of Berlin, a sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Paul Benoit of Wethersfield, as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren James, Jonathan, Alessandra and Liana Salvadori. We will miss his smile. The family would like to give special thanks to Paola, Grace, and Katelyn who helped take care of Arthur in the last months of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the AIM At Melanoma Foundation at www.aimatmelanoma.org. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 5th at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church Street, Newington. Burial will be in the family plot with full military honors in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street, Middletown, is in charge of arrangements.
