Percy Darnell Carr Sr.

Mr. Percy Darnell Carr, Sr., age 56, of Newington, Connecticut, passed away on January 30, 2026. Born on September 20, 1969, in Middletown, Connecticut, Percy lived a life marked by dedication to his work and deep devotion to his family.

Percy retired from the State of Connecticut's Middlesex Superior Court as a Judicial Marshal and also from the NAPA Distribution Center after more than three decades of committed service. Even after retirement, he continued to stay active by working part-time at a facility alongside his son Da'Vaune-a testament to his strong work ethic and love for being close to family.

He was a genuine and caring man who always put family first. Known for his meticulous nature, Percy was a true perfectionist in all that he did. His presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him, whether through friendly dance battles or sharing stories over his cherished daily coffee.

Percy found joy in simple pleasures-watching boxing matches, casting a line while fishing, listening to good music, and attending his grandchildren's games and events. These moments reflected the heart of a man who valued connection and celebration with those he loved most.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved mother Jackie F. Greene; his children Percy D. Carr Jr., Da Vaune R.

Carr, and Desaraena Carr; and his treasured grandchildren A'mere Carr, Ayla Carr, and Ace'syn Brackett He is also remembered fondly by his sisters Monica Bird (Robert), Nyohme Walker (Rodney), and Deshena Pinnok (Nigel); Sheila and Sondra Bonds; brothers William Greene Jr. (Vicky), Antoine Greene, Jamaal Greene (Allysia), and Qwame McGill (Amanda); brother/cousin Luther Walker; a host of nieces and nephews, best friend Freddie; and special friend Sheri.

Percy was predeceased by his fathers William Greene Sr. and Percy L. Carr and grandparents Jackson and Dorothy

Forte.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Tuesday (February 17, 2026) at 11 AM in the Cross Street AME Zion Church, 440 West st. Middletown, CT. With viewing and visitation from 9AM to 11AM at the church. A private repast will follow the Homegoing celebration. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
