Lise Aerinne Waxer

Lise Aerinne Waxer, suddenly, after a brief illness, passed away on Tuesday, (August 13, 2002) at Hartford Hospital. Beloved wife of Medardo Arias; and much-loved daughter of Diane Yip and Peter Waxer. Sadly missed and survived by sister, Danielle Waxer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Lovingly remembered by Auntie Barb. Lise, 37, was an author, musician, traveler, ethno-musicologist and Professor of Music at Trinity College, Hartford, where her love of music of all cultures was a joy and inspiration to her students, colleagues, friends and family. Before moving to Hartford in 1997, Lise lived in her birthplace of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and in Urbana, IL, where she obtained her Ph.D. All who knew Lise were touched by her love of life, her joy in sharing her discoveries, and her commitment and passion to the creation of a world where all cultures were equally valued and celebrated for their unique gifts. She will be sorely missed and never forgotten. A memorial service celebrating her life will be TODAY, August 16, 11 a.m., at the Trinity College Chapel.
