Mose McKorkle Obituary

Mose McKorkle was born in 1910 to the late Willis and Lucinda McCorkle of Carroll County, MS. He worked successfully in several industries, including railroad, manufacturing, construction, landscaping and the U.S. Army, where he was a World War II veteran. He departed peacefully on October 16, 2010, in Hattiesburg at the age of 91.
He was preceded in death by daughter Rosie Marie Christian and son Jackie McKorkle. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Claudia L. McKorkle of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Sarah M. Moore of Hattiesburg and Rose Mary Ford of Lafayette, IN; one son, Richard R. McKorkle of Hattiesburg; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and host of other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, at East Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, South Tipton Street, in Hattiesburg. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. at the church, prior to service time. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg. Hall-Fairley Mortuary of Hattiesburg is in charge of arrangements.
