Alfred Blake Obituary

BLAKE, ALFRED H., 86, of Coral Gables, Florida, passed away January 21, 2013. He was born September 30,1926 in Savannah, Georgia. A World War II Veteran, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Was the Metropolitan Dade County Tax Assessor for ten years from 1970 to 1980. Prior to becoming Tax Assessor, he worked for the Dade County Port Authority, was Chief Dade County Auditor and Dade County Tax Collector. Upon his retirement after 34 years of service with Dade County, he went into private practice as a real estate tax consultant under the business name of Tax Adjustment Experts. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Betty M. Blake, five children, three grand-children and five great grand-children. No services are to be held. Contributions can be made to your favorite charity.

We were so sorry to hear of Al's passing. I have so many memories from my youth and the house over by the Orange Bowl. I'll never forget the great Christmas parties and "Sam" amaongst so many memories. He was a good and devoted man to his family and friends. We are thinking of you and praying for your strength during this time. Love to all the family, Cathy & Dion Sena and Family

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Alfred, he will be greatly missed. Psalms 90:10 says that those who live to be 80 and older have "extra strength", he had that. May you cherish those fond memories you had with him always as you seek comfort from God at this time of grief.
