ARLENE LEIDER Obituary

LEIDER, ARLENE (Leon), born February 11, 1933, passed away April 5, 2017 in the comfort of her home. She was as courageous as she was gentle, as generous as she was a savvy shopper, as full of wonder as she was of wisdom. The rainbow in her closet was matched only by the sunshine in her heart. A compassionate lifetime educator "Legs Leon" as she was once nicknamed stood out in a crowd with her bright smile, kind eyes, and outfits that coordinated perfectly. In 1935, the Leon Family moved to Miami from New York where she grew up and met the love of her life, Bert. They shared 59 years of marriage. A compassionate educator for Miami Dade Public Schools until she was 70. Her children and granddaughters continue her legacy advocating for kids. "Legs Leon" as she was once nicknamed stood out in a crowd with her bright smile, kind eyes, and outfits that coordinated perfectly. She was active in the Naomi Chapter of Hadassah, Pap Corps, Park Optimists Parkinson Group, & Brandeis National Committee. Arlene was an energetic and vivacious yogi with contagious optimism. She was a force and will be dearly missed Arlene is survived by beloved friends, daughter Cindy (Gary), son Mark (Bhram), and granddaughters Jessica (Guillaume) & Allison (Dan) Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7th, 10 am, Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th St. Donations to Pap Corps of Miami, WLRN or charity of choice.
